The Anglican Parish of St. Andrew & St. George offers care, support and a meaningful service to all those grieving the loss of a loved one.
The Process:
An initial planning meeting is scheduled with the minister to arrange the type of service:
- Church service
- Graveside service
- Interment of ashes
- Memorial service. Our services find an appropriate balance between the celebration of the loved one’s life and sadness of their passing.
The Anglican Funeral service generally includes:
- Traditional Anglican prayers
- Two or three hymns
- Short Bible readings
- Short talk by the minister
- Eulogy
- Tributes
Members of the family and/or friends are encouraged to contribute through the Eulogy, Tributes (including musical) and Readings.
We can normally arrange for an organist and choir. A CD player is available for music before and after the service.
We welcome significant items and photographs both in the church and reception hall.
FUNERAL BULLETIN: We are pleased to produce a program to encourage participation in the service. This includes the order of service, hymns, names of family/friends participating and picture of the family member.
RECEPTION: We are pleased to provide a reception for the family in our lower hall. The family is asked to provide the food. We will host and provide the coffee/tea/juice.
FLOWERS: Flowers placed behind the altar are considered given to the glory of God and should be left there. Other floral arrangements may be removed by the family.
Arrangements for delivery of food and flowers should be coordinated with the church office.
